She is a Haitian Queen, her roots intertwine with her hair in statement locks, which combine different finishes of black against a chaotic but beautiful surroundings. Enclaved in the National Flowers of the Caribbean, that are created through impasto techniques, adding depth and dimension which makes the viewer want to not only look but to touch the artwork. To feel the artwork, physically. The Earth Mother sits contently, peacefully quiet, pregnant; anticipating where life will take her next. The flowers represent fertility and beauty. The leaves are a metaphor for the layers of motherhood.
