Majestic Mother
Part of a series of artworks Titled:
The Archetypal Mothers - a Reclamation of the Self.
This series is an exploration of the many layers within motherhood, the sacrifices and the blessings. A testament to divine femininity, identity and the self that is lost and found.
The Majestic Mother has a more complex composition. She is a glorious woman who sits alone, proudly, on a hand carved wooden throne with warm red velvet cushions. Her palace resembles that of a traditional Ancient Persian home for an empress. Her two pet cheetahs are exclusive to the region, to others they are intimidating, but to her, they are her fur babies. Her pets. On her right is a large bunch of fresh red roses. On her left a silver bowl of fresh fruit. Beneath her is a Persian rug. The Majestic Mother represents the importance of the role of a Mother. The head of the home, the neck of the home, the heart of the home, the hands, the womb, the blood, the sweat, the tears. She is the cornerstone, as well as the roof, the walls, the windows and even the foundations of the home itself. The Majestic Mother is a depiction of the level of importance a mother really has in the role that she plays, unknowingly. She is the ruler, the queen and the empress of the family. With or without a partner, with or without a kingdom. She is the precious one who keeps everything in order. The Majestic Mother is a tribute to all mothers. You are appreciated.
