This series is an exploration of the many layers within motherhood, the sacrifices and the blessings. A testament to divine femininity, identity and the self that is lost and found.

The Sensual Mother is a reminder to all mothers, that although the daily routines of caring for a family can lead us to walk past the mirror, catch a glimpse of a woman you don’t recognise anymore; hair dirty, up in a messy bun, sleep crust around our puffy eyes, sick stains on our pyjamas and the smell of 24 hour breastmilk all over our top half, we are still women. We are still in there somewhere! And in time, when we make it out of the trenches of early motherhood, we will find this version of ourselves again. Not to be mistaken for promiscuity, but our realest, most empowered authentic selves. Confident, kind and in control. The Sensual Mother sits in a straddling position, her body wet from the glimmering water that lays before a giant golden sun set. An end to a long era of suffering, and now time to relax. Enjoy the next steps forward. She awaits enjoyment and pleasure after stress and pressure. Surrounded with warm pinks, purples and golds. The Sun is created with contrasting textures under the gold leaf which was applied in multiple layers on top of a red base, to add warmth and further create a feeling of softness, vibrance, allure and sex. The Sensual Mother is a testament to the inner vixen in all women.
